A minor point I guess, but if you look at both AA index and lmarena.ai, the best open (with 100% open post-training data, software and recipe) from US is indeed Llama-based but it is not Llama-4-Maverick.
I wonder what is really happening in China? Only China has been to the dark side of the moon. Kimi is from moonshot.ai. Evidently the staff is full of Pink Floyd fans. I am definitely not saying China has a software factory on the dark side of the moon. I’m saying there is a Miles Davis level cool factor at work.
